About Doxycycline
Doxycycline is forbidden for pregnant woman (it could harm the unborn baby, including later permanent discoloration of the teeth). Don’t use Doxycycline with birth control pills, it makes them less effective. Ask your doctor about using Doxycycline if you are breastfeeding mom.
If you are allergic to Doxycycline or similar medicines (demeclocycline, minocycline or tetracycline), don’t use them.
People with kidney or liver disease need a special dosage adjustment and tests to safely use Doxycycline.
Use Doxycycline in appropriate way, throw away unused tablets (capsules) if they are expired or no longer needed. Expired tablets of Doxycycline can cause a dangerous syndrome and as a result it will damage the kidneys. Doxycycline is not for children younger than 8 years.
